Flex IPTV does not come with any channels. It is an empty player — you supply the playlist. And the part that trips almost everyone up: you do not type the playlist into the app. There is no field for it. You read a Device ID off the app, then send the playlist to that ID from a web page.
This guide walks through it for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, covers Xtream Codes as well as plain M3U links, and lists the fixes for the six reasons channels usually fail to load.
What you need before you start
- The Flex IPTV app, installed on your device.
- An M3U URL from an IPTV provider — a long link that starts with
httpand usually containsget.php. Or a set of Xtream Codes: a server URL, a username and a password. - Your Device ID, which the app shows you on first launch.
- The device and the browser you use for the web portal do not have to be on the same network.
Do not have a playlist yet? The M3U URL is what an IPTV subscription gives you. It arrives by email after you sign up and looks something like http://server.tld:8080/get.php?username=…&password=…&type=m3u_plus. Without one, the app opens to an empty channel list no matter what you do.
How to add an M3U playlist to Flex IPTV
- Open Flex IPTV and find your Device ID. It is shown on the first screen, and again under the settings or device-information area. Write it down exactly — it is case sensitive.
- Open the Flex IPTV playlist page in a browser. On a phone or a computer, go to the playlist / upload page on the official Flex IPTV website. This is the only place the playlist can be entered.
- Enter your Device ID in the ID field on that page.
- Paste your M3U URL into the playlist field. Paste it whole — no spaces at either end, and do not let your browser cut it short. If there is a separate EPG field, paste your EPG link there; leave it empty if your provider did not give you one.
- Click Send. The page confirms the playlist was assigned to your Device ID.
- Restart the app. Close Flex IPTV completely — swipe it away, do not just go to the home screen — then reopen it. The channels load on the next launch.
Nothing after restarting? Nine times out of ten the Device ID was mistyped. 0 and O, and 1 and l, are the usual culprits. Go back and check it character by character before changing anything else.
Adding a playlist on Apple TV
Typing a long Device ID with an Apple TV remote is painful, so the app gives you a shortcut: it displays a QR code on the TV screen.
- Open Flex IPTV on the Apple TV. The QR code appears on the setup screen.
- Point your phone camera at it. It opens the playlist page with the Device ID already filled in.
- Paste your M3U URL on the phone and send it.
- Restart the app on the Apple TV.
If the QR code does not appear, the ID is still printed on screen — use the normal method above.
Using Xtream Codes instead of an M3U URL
Some providers hand you three separate values rather than one long link:

On the same playlist page, choose the media-server or Xtream option instead of the M3U field, fill in all three, and send. Everything else is identical.
The two are interchangeable. If you have Xtream Codes but the form only takes M3U, you can build the link yourself: http://server.tld:8080/get.php?username=YOURNAME&password=YOURPASS&type=m3u_plus&output=ts — swap in your own three values.
Channels not loading? Six things to check
1. The playlist has not been sent yet
Entering the ID is not enough — the Send button has to be clicked and the page has to confirm. If you closed the tab early, do it again.
2. The app was not fully closed
Flex IPTV reads the playlist at launch. Backgrounding it is not a restart. Force-close and reopen.
3. The M3U link expired
Trial links often last 24 hours. Paste the URL straight into a browser: if it downloads a file, the link works; if it returns an error page, ask your provider for a fresh one.
4. The connection limit was hit
Most subscriptions allow one or two simultaneous streams. If the playlist loads but nothing plays, something else is already using the connection.
5. Your ISP is blocking the server
Some providers in the UK and Europe block IPTV hosts at the DNS level. Test on mobile data — if it works there but not on Wi-Fi, that is the cause.
6. The playlist is genuinely huge
Playlists with tens of thousands of entries can take a minute to parse on older hardware. Give it time before deciding it has failed.

Frequently asked questions
Is Flex IPTV free?
The app is free to download and use. There is a paid Pro upgrade that removes ads and speeds up channel switching. Neither version includes channels — the subscription that supplies the playlist is separate.
Can I add more than one playlist?
Yes. Send another playlist to the same Device ID and it replaces or joins the existing one, depending on your app version.
Do I have to re-send the playlist every month?
Only if your provider issues a new M3U URL when you renew. If the link stays the same, the app keeps working with no action from you.
Why is there no place to type the playlist in the app itself?
It is a deliberate design choice: entering a 200-character URL with a TV remote is unworkable, so the entry moved to a web page and the app just pulls what is assigned to its ID.
Does Flex IPTV provide channels?
